100 Man Skills
My 22 month old son picks up the funniest phrases from me when I am talking to my wife. His favorite is "I fix it, daddy." I guess he picked it up when my wife asks me to fix things around the house. My wife thinks I can fix anything now.
Pick up Popular Mechanics and on pages 56-88 of the October issue, there is a list of 100 Skills Every Man Should Know. I'm feeling pretty "manly" since there were 24 out of the 100 that I have not attempted or been exposed to like dealing with a snake bite, frostbite, escaping a sinking car or perform the Heimlich. So if you are choking, don't ask me for help. J
Grab a copy today and see how you measure up...times are changing, I'm willing to bet a lot of stay at home moms can do more on the list than then men these days.

| Get Ahead Of Flu Season
We're not quite there yet, but a little pre-emptive effort can eliminate a future nasty head cold. Pages 89 though 93 in the October Issue of Natural Health magazine have several herbal remedies for combating all sorts of ailments, but the one that stuck out for me was on page 91. I too have used ginseng tea for cold and flu defense and it works wonders as long as you take it regularly.
From my experience Eleuthero (Siberian ginseng) is better than Panax ginseng. I once heard a friend of mine call it "Go juice for old people." Not only do you defend against colds, but it really boosts your energy without the over-stimulating effects felt by drinking caffeine.
Find other great natural remedies in your own subscription to Natural Health. You get 10 issues for $26.00 which is 42% off the cover price.
